Fields of Mistria Multiplayer: Does It Have Co-op?
No — Fields of Mistria has no multiplayer or co-op, and none is planned. It's a strictly single-player experience, and NPC Studio has been clear about that since Early Access. Siliconera reports the developer's position plainly: "there is no multiplayer in Fields of Mistria and that feature isn't planned for the game" — it was single-player in Early Access and remains so at full launch.
The Official Stance
The game's official roadmap, which outlined planned features like marriage, children, more heart events, and additional dungeon biomes, never included multiplayer. Everything that shipped in the 1.0 update — marriage, children, the completed Town Repair questline — came from that roadmap, and no online or co-op mode appeared in the 1.0 patch notes.
In other words, this isn't a "coming later" feature. NPC Studio designed Fields of Mistria as a one-person adventure, and nothing the studio has said or shipped suggests that will change.
Why There's No Co-op
Fields of Mistria is built around a personal story: you restore the earthquake-damaged town of Mistria, romance one of 12 marriage candidates, and raise a family. The town is filled with 30+ characters whose questlines and heart events are all written for a single protagonist. Back at the Early Access launch in 2024, Dot Esports described the design the same way — a town counting on "you, and you alone" — and the two years of updates since have only deepened that single-player structure rather than opening it up.
Co-op farm sims like Stardew Valley were architected differently — Stardew launched single-player in 2016 but added a four-player mode in v1.3 and expanded to eight-player lobbies in v1.6. Fields of Mistria has made no equivalent move, and the comparison only highlights how deliberate the single-player focus is.
Could Multiplayer Ever Come?
Never say never, but there's no evidence to point to. Dot Esports noted there's a "slight possibility" the game could one day follow Stardew Valley's path, purely on the logic that Stardew itself added co-op years after launch — but that's outside speculation, not anything NPC Studio has indicated (to be confirmed).
For now, treat any "Fields of Mistria co-op mod" or multiplayer rumor with caution. The studio's own communication has consistently described the game as an adventure for one person.
Farming Games That Do Have Multiplayer

- Stardew Valley — up to 8 players since the 1.6 update, on PS4, Switch, Xbox One, PC, and mobile. The closest mechanical match to Mistria's farming, mining, and romance loop.

- Fae Farm — co-op with otherworldly elements, on Switch and PC; the farming is lighter, with more emphasis on mines and quests.
- Sun Haven — PC farming sim with a multiplayer option, magical elements, and a heavier focus on farming than Fae Farm.
